Installation Considerations

 

 

SpecsIntact is always available for download from the SpecsIntact Website.  Before beginning the installation, check to make sure your computer system meets the hardware and software requirements and visit our on-line Help Center for access to all the SI User Tools to include eLearning Modules for video instruction and the printable Installation and QuickStart Guides.

Installation Options

SpecsIntact is comprised of two major sets of folders:  Software and Working Directories

 

• The Software Directory contains the files that operate the program.
• The Working Directories hold JobsA group of projects. and Local MastersA group of standard Agency (Master) Guide Specifications used in the preparation of a Job. -- Multiple Working Directories on different drives are possible.

 

These directories can be installed on a local drive or a network server, or a combination of the two.  When installing on an individual computer system, both the Software and Working Directories will be stored on your local drive.  If you are connected to a local network, the considerations below will dictate which installation would be the best choice.  

Considerations for Installation

Available Disk Space

• The Software Directory requires at least 24 MB of space for SpecsIntact to operate (for local installation).
• Space for Working Directories will depend entirely upon the number of Directories and size of the Jobs being stored.  Although Working Directories are possible, one must be designated as the default.

Accessibility

If multiple users will be editing Jobs, there are two options:

 

• Install the Software on the Local Drive and setup the Working Directories on the network server.
• Or you can Install both the Software and Working Directories on the network Server.
