The Windows Installer MSI installation is intended for IT Administrators Only!

The MSI installation (.msi) is designed to integrate with third-party software deployment tools for performing silent or pre-configured installations to multiple systems across a network, thus eliminating the need for the system administrator having to visit  each system to perform an installation.   This is a convenient way to streamline the installation process of a desktop application.

A third-party Software Deployment Tool such as Microsoft’s “Windows Installer Service” will define the parameters that instruct the installer how to run (i.e. where to install the program, if a shortcut is placed on the desktop, etc.).  It is very important that IT Administrators have the expertise that is required to use these tools, in order to integrate with SpecsIntact’s MSI Installation package!

Silent installations require no user interaction and it is a convenient way to streamline the installation process of a desktop application on several systems at once.

If this installation is not what you expected,  then refer to Chapter 4, to guide you through the Traditional Local Installation process.
