Illustration Add Sections Templates Tab

Click on the other tabs above to learn more about their functions.

When adding a Section Template, the System is designed to know whether you are working from a MasterFormat™ 1995 or MasterFormat™ 2004 Master.  Therefore, when the Template Tab is chosen the correct format will be the default setting.

Icon Indicating CautionThe system will also warn you when attempting to mix MasterFormat™ 1995 Sections with MasterFormat™ 2004 Sections.  This process is not recommended, as it will cause Section Reference and Report Issues.  It is recommended to find the appropriate MasterFormat™ 2004 Section to edit rather than using an older Section for the project.

You can create as many Sections from templates as you want. (The Section Titles must be entered between the Title tags using the Editor.) All Sections you create with templates will be listed in the right pane of the dialog box, with the pending action add or overwrite listed beside it.

Icon Indicating Helpful Hint Right-clicking on a Section with an action pending will allow you to choose to Undo the action and remove the Section from the Contents pane.

Icon Indicating Important Information To Note If you choose a Section that is already in the Job, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it.  Keep in mind that if you overwrite a Section that you have already edited, you will lose your changes.

When the pending actions are executed, you will see the Sections you created with templates listed in the right pane of the SI Explorer view of your Job.
